Services

Change is hard, especially when you're going at it alone.  Our nutrition counseling, groups and online course offer unique support and expertise to work toward your health goals.

Nutrition Counseling

Initial Assessment

During your first nutrition counseling session, we’ll review past medical history, usual dietary intake, and any health concerns or goals you might have.  You are not required to bring anything to this appointment, but medical documents (such as recent labs) are welcome.  At the end of this session, a recommendation regarding follow-up appointments will be made based on individual needs.

Session Time: 75 minutes

Cost: $250

Follow-Up Appointments

Since so many factors affect health and behavior, a stand-alone initial assessment offers limited benefit without follow-up appointments.  In follow-ups, you’ll continue to collaborate with your dietitian on health goals, learn from successes and setbacks, and explore topics that support your needs (such as Intuitive Eating, coping skills, meal planning, mindfulness and stress reduction, nutrition education, labs interpretation, etc.).

Session Time: 45 minutes

Cost: $180

Using Insurance

Our practitioners are out-of-network providers and do not participate with insurance at this time.  However, we will submit superbills on your behalf! A superbill is a receipt of medical services recognized by insurance companies, and submitting it to your insurer helps nutrition counseling count toward your annual deductible. In our experience, reimbursement may be significant after you have fulfilled your annual deductible.

If you’d like to know more about what your insurance company may reimburse, we invite you to click the button below to request a benefits verification and someone from our team will reach out via email to share the results.

We also provide a script to guide you in what questions to ask if you’d like to call your insurance company. The script is complimentary and does not guarantee any specific insurance outcomes.

Sliding Scale

We are proud to partner with Project Heal to offer low-cost services to clients in need of eating disorder care. The non-profit organization awards treatment placement on a quarterly basis. Please visit their website to apply for support.

Nutrition Groups

Strengthening Self-Image

In today's media landscape, young people encounter tremendous pressure for self-improvement.  Constant striving can negatively impact sense of self, body image, and self-care practices.  Strengthening Self-Image offers community and professional support in sifting through health-related content and navigating societal expectations. This group, led by Desa Crews, MS, RD, LDN, will be open to young adults ages 17-22.

When:  Wednesdays at 5:30pm, virtual (1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31)

This virtual group will meet weekly and will have a maximum of 8 participants. To express your interest in joining, please contact Desa at desa@rdemily.com.

Virtual Meal Support Group

Have you noticed increased anxiety at meals?  Is there growing temptation to skip or “work through” meals?  Have your portions morphed significantly?  Is it getting harder to strive for food variety or add “fun” foods to your meals?  If any of these ring true for you, you may benefit from a weekly Meal Support Group.  This small group will be a form of community support for those struggling to create space for meal times and will feature:

    • Check-ins and check-outs for anxiety and hunger/fullness

    • Intention setting

    • Casual conversation and table games

This “BYO” lunch meeting will meet weekly and requires a minimum of 4 participants. The group is $100 per month ($20-25 per session). To express your interest in joining, please contact Emily at emily@rdemily.com.
