Nutrition Counseling
Change is hard, especially when you're going at it alone. Our nutrition counseling offers personalized support and expertise to work toward your health goals.
Initial Assessment
During your first nutrition counseling session, we’ll review your past medical history, risk factors, usual dietary intake, and any health concerns or goals you may have. This will form the basis for personalized nutrition recommendations and a roadmap toward better health. You are not required to bring anything to this appointment, but medical documents (such as recent labs) are welcome. At the end of the initial assessment, your dietitian will make a recommendation about which follow-up option will be most appropriate for your goals.
Session Time: 75 minutes
Rate: $275
Follow-Ups
Since so many factors affect health and behavior, a stand-alone initial assessment offers limited benefit without follow-up appointments. In follow-ups, your dietitian will customize sessions to meet your health goals by implementing new interventions and strategies, learning from successes and setbacks, and exploring topics that support your unique needs (such as condition-specific nutrition education, meal/snack planning, labs interpretation, coping skills, Intuitive Eating, etc.).
Session Time: 45 minutes
Standard Rate: $210
Reduced Rate: $195
We’ve designed our 6+ Session Series to reduce the cost of follow-up sessions. For clients interested in 6 or more sessions (minimum 1 session per month), we offer a reduced rate of $195 per session. This occurs as a monthly charge that prepays for one session and locks in the $195 rate for any additional sessions that month. The 6+ Session Series is most appropriate for clients addressing eating disorder recovery, their relationship with food/body, overlapping chronic conditions, weight restoration following an acute illness, perinatal nutrition, or cardiometabolic risk factors (e.g. cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, liver enzymes). Examples of shorter-term nutrition work might include nutrition education related to a new diagnosis, evaluation of current dietary patterns and risk factors, mild gastrointestinal distress, preparing for an athletic event, or reviewing updated labs.
6+ Session Series FAQ
-
The $195 monthly charge will be billed on the 1st of the month and includes one follow-up session that month. Additional sessions will be billed at the time of service.
-
The Series will continue on a month-to-month basis until the client informs their dietitian they’d like to opt out.
-
Because of the reduced rates we offer with the 6+ Series, we’re not able to shorten the 6-session commitment period. Since nutrition touches many aspects of our lives, even if you’ve met your initial goals, you may still find value in meeting with your dietitian to discuss genetic and lifestyle risk factors, meal planning, kitchen organization, or other elements of your food experience.
-
No, but you can join the 6+ Session Series at any time!
Using Insurance
Our practitioners are out-of-network providers and do not participate with insurance at this time. However, we will submit superbills on your behalf! A superbill is a receipt of medical services recognized by insurance companies, and submitting it to your insurer helps nutrition counseling count toward your annual deductible. In our experience, reimbursement may be significant after you have fulfilled your annual deductible.
If you’d like to know more about what your insurance company may reimburse, we invite you to click the blue “Use Your Insurance'“ widget on the righthand side and then “Verify Your Benefits”. Enter your insurance details to request a benefits verification and someone from our team will reach out via email to share the results.
We also provide a script to guide you in what questions to ask if you’d like to call your insurance company. The script is complimentary and does not guarantee any specific insurance outcomes.
